Souraya started dancing as a child, grooving around the kitchen in her dads boots listening to classic country music. She continued with dance classes growing up and in 2012 stumbled into a country bar in Tucson, Az and fell in love with country swing. Over the next few years she started expanding and learning two step and west coast swing. By 2016 she moved to Louisville, KY where she got sucked into the world of competitive country dancing through the UCWDC (United Country Western Dance Council)circuit. Since starting in the UCWDC she has multiple accolades, including 2023 1st place couples division III Crystal and 2024 receiving 2nd place couples division II open (with her partner Russ Bradchulis), 3rd place ProAm intermediate open and 1st place ProAm intermediate Crystal. You can find her every first, third and fifth Fridays at Starlight teaching for Country Remix SD. She is excited to continue growing her own dancing and share her knowledge and enthusiasm for dance with others! If you see her around, ask for a dance!!!
